Virginia's Senator

Fair Shot Tour Comes to Hampton Roads

Today Senator Warner stopped in Hampton Roads to continue his Fair Shot for All Virginians Tour.

It’s because of his own experiences in business that Senator Warner continues to work for policies to bring economic growth and opportunity for all Virginians across the Commonwealth.

After graduating law school, Senator Warner started a small business, but like many entrepreneurs he failed in his first attempt. Six months later, he started a second business and failed again. Undeterred, he successfully invested in the earliest days of the cell phone industry and eventually co-founded the company that became Nextel.

Senator Warner believes that every Virginian should be afforded with the same fair shot he had.

Senator Warner joined Representative Bobby Scott for a community leaders roundtable. Together they discussed their efforts to address the mismanagement at the Department of Veterans Affairs through a bipartisan V-A reform bill that passed Congress earlier this month. Senator Warner highlighted his successful initiative to provide the Northern Virginia Technology Council, along with other private I-T professionals, with the ability to assess, and ultimately work to fix, the problems with the V-A’s broken scheduling system.

We ended the day with a campaign office opening in Hampton Roads. It was fantastic to see so many great supporters out and ready to get involved with Team Warner! Thanks to everyone who joined us.
