Virginia's Senator

Letter: I support Mark Warner

You see it all over the state, signs that say “Virginia: Open for Business.” While our economy faces some real challenges, this slogan still reads true in Virginia today. This is due in large part to Mark Warner’s bipartisan push for businesses to open and to grow in the Commonwealth.

During his time as governor, he had the remarkable ability to create nearly 130,000 private sector jobs that led to $13 billion in economic development. His willingness to compromise and to work with both Republicans and Democrats paid off for Virginians across the state.

As senator, Warner helped lure businesses like Intelsat to the state and worked to gain approval for the development of the Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre in Southside and the Foreign Affairs Security Training Center in Nottoway County.

He is able to bring Republicans and Democrats together to focus on issues that are important to both parties: job growth and immigration reform. Working with a bipartisan group of senators representing ideologies from all over the political spectrum, Sen. Warner introduced the Startup Act 2.0 and the Startup Act 3.0 that would keep high skilled workers in America by issuing entrepreneurship and STEM visas.

Sen. Warner finds innovative ways to help fuel our economy. His bipartisan, can-do attitude makes me trust him.
