Now it is up to you to go vote
Today is the day: election day. I wanted to say thanks for all of the hard work you have done knocking on doors, making phone calls and discussing the importance of this election.
It’s been the greatest honor of my life to serve as Governor and Senator from Virginia, and I only had that opportunity because of supporters like you.
Now it is up to you to go vote.
We cannot give up and sit this election out. If we do that, we hand over the keys of our country to the extremes. We need people willing to reach across the aisle, because that is when we get things done, that is when we can solve the problems facing Virginians.
In the last six years, I’ve worked with Republicans, Democrats – anyone willing to roll up their sleeves to tackle our nation’s deficit, make college more affordable, and bring good jobs to the Commonwealth.
The issues we are fighting for today will shape the future of Virginia and the future of our country. You can count on me to continue to fight for Virginians.
But today, I’m counting on you. I’m counting on you to remind your friends, your relatives, and your neighbors, to get to the polls and cast your vote.
And when you are done – volunteer to knock on doors and make phone calls to help get others out to vote
If you give me the honor of rehiring me, my promise to you is that I will continue to roll up my sleeves and work across the aisle so that we can keep moving Virginia and our country forward.
