Sen. Mark Warner stopped by the Woodstock Brew House on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic with Shenandoah County business leaders and local Democrats.
Warner was critical of how the pandemic has been handled, saying “I think when history looks back, it will look back at this White House and give it a failing grade.” Six months into the pandemic, he said Virginia nursing homes “are still buying these masks from the black market in China.” The Defense Production Act, he said, is there to “rally domestic suppliers” in “a moment of crises.”
“This is a country, that within six months of Pearl Harbor, we were producing defense output for the whole world,” he said.
