Warner announces weekend campaign events in Gloucester, Norfolk
Sen. Mark Warner will hold meet and greet events in Gloucester and Norfolk on Friday and Saturday.
Warner will debate his Republican opponent, Daniel Gade, at Norfolk State University on Saturday evening, marking the second of three anticipated debates for this election.
In individual letters to Facebook, Google, and Twitter, Sen. Warner detailed the various ways in which each company continues to contribute to the spread of disinformation, viral misinformation, and voter suppression efforts. He also warned about the imminent risk of bad actors once again weaponizing American-bred social media tools to undermine democracy ahead of the November election, and urged each company to take proactive measures to safeguard against these efforts.

U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) is pressing Senate leaders on the urgent need to secure H-2B visas for seasonal seafood workers in Virginia and around the United States.
In a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Sen. Warner urged the U.S. Department of State to make clear that seafood companies seeking H-2B visas for their seasonal workers qualify for national interest exceptions (NIEs) to Presidential Proclamations 10014 and 10052, which suspend entry to the United States for certain immigrant visa applicants through Dec. 31, 2020.

The Oct. 3 debate will focus on racial disparities and inequities in education, healthcare, economic mobility and the criminal justice system.
